Sanitary buildings on campsites and marinas in the Northern Netherlands are closed
The chairmen of the three Safety Regions in the Northern Netherlands have decided that toilet-, washing- and showerfacilities at campsites and marinas should be closed immediately. They consider it too great a risk that in these places it is not possible to observe the measures of keeping a distance of 1.5 meters.
The measure will be included in the new emergency ordinance (noodverordening), which the provinces of Fryslân, Groningen and Drenthe will adopt. The recreation companies themselves may remain open to guests who do not have to use those sanitary facilities. Such as, for example, users of a mobile home or chalet. The ban will apply to holiday parks, campsites, camping areas, small-scale camping fields and marinas. Due to government measures, facilities such as swimming pools and catering facilities had to be closed earlier in these places.
As soon as there is more clarity about the situation from April 29, we will inform you about this. In addition, the RIVM guidelines also apply.
The announcement of the emergency ordinance (noodverordening) is available on the website of the Fryslân Security Region.
